Your issue seems to be that you are mixing incompatible software framework release number (SFRN) formats.

The stable SFRN 4.0.2 format cannot be combined with SFRN 5.1.3. That is probably the reason you are experiencing those errors during mount op.

Thus far the reiser4 -enhanced kernels and utilites that I build are for the stable SFRN 4.0.2 format:

Try those patches pointed by links above, which all are SFRN 4.0.2 format, and you should be able to format, mount, and run on reiser4.

Hello. Thank you, you have done a great job.
I was exciting Reiser4 opportunities on my old laptop with outdated hardware. It seemed like a 2.6 kernel.
I compiled a kernel 5.6.15 with Reiser4 on the board a few days ago. And there was an mounting issue.

There are some errors from journalctl:

I can ‘mkfs.reiser4‘ but I can’t mount it.

Should I use version GCC-8 instead GCC-10? And what is Reiser4 patch for Debian? Is this the same as official edward6 reiser4 patch?

On my installation of Metztli, I found using the deadline scheduler and turning off all swap really sped things up with no stability issues.

In terminal as root:

1 echo deadline > /sys/block/sda/queue/scheduler

2 swapoff -a

It would be nice if you could give some pronunciation hints for any words in this Linux in Nahuatl, the Aztec language.

Having used it, I think Reiser4 will be an important and uniquely useful Linux file system. Thank you for your contribution and congrats.

This is a great “How to"! I now have php5.4 and mySQL5.1 up and running. Since there are new versions of Drupal available since this “how to” was written I thought I should try with drupal-7.38. However, when opening the “install.php I get the following: “system requirements page for more information.’; exit; } // Start the installer. require_once DRUPAL_ROOT . ‘/includes/install.core.inc’; install_drupal();” Any idea how to proceed with this? Or should I try an older version of drupal?
