Niltze [Hello], Jordi-

We do appreciate your insightful comment and suggestions. It has been forwarded and shared verbatim to relevant parties for consideration into their efforts when planning a roadmap ahead.

Notwithstanding, there are no assurances that reiser4 development will continue (we are already one kernel major version behind for Debian Amatlocuilin, i.e., ‘Bookworm’) as we recently deduced – by his indoctus and self serving, victim-playing, rant, nonetheless – that there was never a good faith intention by the principal Linux source maintainer to merge this superb file system into his kernel source tree. It is just another instance of ideology, the West’s inherent biases, and politics, clobbering technical meritocracy – as it was pointed out in an older post: Coyolxauhqui: Build Reiser4 -patched Linux Kernel, Headers, and Modules, for Stretch-Backports the ‘Debian Way‘ when dealing with the schizophrenic Red Hat employee/maintainer’s rejection of a reiser4 patch for GNU Parted. That is, we have always gone against all odds. Well, it is what it is.

Again, Jordi, thank you for your efforts in contacting us.

Best Professional Regards.

Not having any linux expertise to speak of, I naturally could not comment as to either the caliber or soundness of your reiser4 based offerings. ( I’m a retired English as a Second Language teacher.) Nevertheless, reiser4 and debian have been long time interests of mine. And to my knowledge, you guys are “the only game in town” in this respect. Have you guys considered how much attention and traffic to your technical business, a Distrowatch technical level, reiser4/debian project would generate?

A cursory marketing analysis might suggest that Distrowatch target users would not translate into increased technical business. A more astute marketing analysis would undoubtedly suggest that your potential customers both frequent and heavily use Distrowatch offerings. An ongoing Distrowatch presence would act as an indirect but useful feeder for your business.

At any rate, I sincerely wish the absolute best of luck to you,

Jordi
