Lotus Connections Screen Saver On OS/2
Living happily among its modern counterparts is one of my OS/2 Warp Server for E-Business machines that I keep as updated as possible.
I have installed the Odin Software from Netlabs --an site that serves as a cataclyst for OS/2 developers. Odin is the Wine port for the OS/2 operating environment. It runs some Windows programs by inserting an abstraction layer that allows OS/2 to execute them in an acceptable manner. Accordingly, I will only execute frivolous, er... light duty Win applications in my OS/2 environment.
Having become myself acquainted with the new IBM Lotus Connections Enterprise Collaboration Software, available for Linux as well as the Windows platforms, I decided to download the also newly available Lotus Connections Screen Saver. "Would it run on OS/2?" crossed my mind. I knew it was available for Windows only but...
At my OS/2 command prompt I typed:
pe ibm_lotus-connections-screensaver-installer.exe
Some files unpacked at a directory that I was required by the installation utility. I proceeded to change to the directory where the files were extracted, selected the executable and typed once again:
pe Lotus-Connections.exe
And it worked, evidently...
